My Memoir
In the first few weeks of school, I learned what a memoir was. A memoir documents a moment in your life that has changed you as a person. Although I have created many essays in the past, writing a memoir has been complicated yet rewarding. I learned many valuable skills while writing the memoir. I broadened my understanding of editing and revising, because I did not know the correct way to do it before. I also learned the correct way to peer edit and learned a great deal about grammar. I always thought I could only learn from the teacher, but I gained a different perspective and learned a from my classmates. It’s a useful skill that I will implement throughout my life. I also learned more about myself my and my heritage. Since I am half Korean, my cultural experiences have influenced my individuality. This memoir allowed me to realize the many ways I connect with my family and my culture.
TED Talk
In our TED Talk, we got to chose any topic we wanted to present on. I like the freedom we got on this, and the fact that it could literally be anything. Conspiracy theories have always fascinated me, and they're interesting to listen to, so naturally I picked a conspiracy theory. In my presentation, I talked about how your whole life could be a simulation. It's a pretty far stretched theory, but I have good supporting evidence that's fun to listen to. The first button is for when I was brainstorming and putting everything together. The second button is to the slides I presented in front of my class.
